"Dar a Luz" is a Spanish phrase meaning to
give birth. Literally it means "to give to the
light." We chose this name to reflect Judy's
long time occupation as a nurse-midwife,
and to draw attention to the exceptional
lustre of our alpacas' fiber.

Dar a Luz Alpacas began with the purchase
of a Huacaya named Princess Anna in 2004.
We've been expanding slowly since then
(we're in no particular hurry) and have
since added both Huacayas and Suris to our
herd.

In purchasing our alpacas we've taken great
care to research the bloodlines and only
pick the best. This emphasis on good
breeding has paid off in the beautiful crias
that our girls are producing. You may meet
them for yourself on our
cria page.
